Both artists are self absorbed and their art is made up of insular auto biographical stories. They are vying for power and control in a world controlled by media coverage and the cults of creative promotional personas. What would be the antidote to both of them? At the time I had no idea participatory art practices existed. But after looking into the history of interactive installations and finding relational aesthetics I decided that the way forward was investigating participatory art.
